The electromagnetic spectrum
That is just a big fancy word for all the different sized waves of energy that travel outward from the sun. Its like when you throw a small pebble into the lake and it lets off a ripple in the water from one wave being very close to the other but only ripples out a little bit. But if you throw a bigger bolder out in the water, the ripple will be much bigger than the pebble. That's just like different waves that are in the air, some have a bigger wavelength than the others, here's a chart to see the different levels of the waves:
Ultra Violet being weakest, Radio being strongest
Ultra Violet being weakest, Radio being strongest
Ultraviolet Rays- They are the harmful rays that can cause sunburn, which is the leading cause of skin cancer.
Infrared- These waves can give off radiation, and the near infrared are the light in cameras that make the flash (these are the only visible rays)
Radio- These waves are the reasons that we can listen to radio stations and watch TV. Mostly used to transport data from one place to another.
