What is equilibrium
Equilibrium (Eq for short) is when two reactions at the same rate occur and are opposite from each other. Like 2S02 + O2= 2SO3 Even though the rate of the first reaction equals the opposite reaction , it doesn't mean that products are reactants are equal.
There is a main factor that affects Eq, its called the Le Chateliers Principle states that if a stress is applied to something in the Eq, the whatever the reactants are they will shift in the direction that will relieve the stress.
If there is an increase in concentration then it will shift in the direction that will use the substance. If there is a decrease in concentration It will shift in the direction that wi use the substance. If there is a change in pressure it affects the gases only
Example: 2So2 + O2 -> <- 2So3 The So3 will shift to the left and the O2 will also shift left.
If Catlyst are added there will be n change to the reaction
